One of my favorite birds

“If I keep a green bough in my heart, the singing bird will come.”
- Chinese Proverb

This weekend I am speaking about birding and blogging at the Michigan Audubon's annual conference in Lansing. I will catch up with all of you on Sunday. Thank you for visiting!

Awww The birdie looks so sweet & such a clear photo! I strive for that kind of clarity!!!

Thank you very much for stopping by & seeing my lil Jilly - I'm so happy I got to see her!!! Today was a really really good day - I got to see Jilly & then my friend from grade school stopped in to see me, too, that I haven't seen in a couple of years AND the weather was sooo nice on top of it all!!! Great Day!
I thanked Justin several times for bringing Jilly to see me, then I even text him after he left & said Thank You again - I'm praying that I get to start seeing her more often!

What a wonderful opportunity for you and for others to hear you. Have you done a lot of public speaking before?

I too have a fondness for chickadees. They are so fearless and comical, and viewed up close are so ...perfect!

Black-capped Chick-a-dee, so precious to me. Question for your, will Eastern Blue Birds and Black Capped Chick-a-dees compete for the same "Bluebird House"? I have seen both types of birds in and out of the same house at different times during the day.

That's an amazing photo of ... as my grandson used to say,... a "chick-a-chick!" He would stand up on the sofa look out the window and say... "grandma, chickachick!"

Good luck with your speaking engagement!

Somebody get that Chicky a napkin, he (or she) appears to have some crumbs on his/her face! What a fantastic photo, Shelley. Good luck and have fun at the conference!

Mildred - thank you so much!

Leedra - you are right!

Tricia - So glad to hear about your visit w/ your granddaughter!!!

Hi Valerie - I did take that photo. Thank you!!

Betsy - these birds have me wrapped around their little birdy claws!! :-)

Kathy B - mostly company presentations and trainings. Glad you liked my chickadee!

Darla - they will depending on the size of the hole on the birdbox. If it's smaller (chickadee size) then the Eastern Bluebird won't be able to get in as well as other predators. On some of our birdboxes we put a "birdy guard" so the chickadees can have babies in peace.

Country Girl - Coming from you - a true compliment! Thank you! I enjoy your photography very much!

Pam - thanks! And Lansing was a blast! Hey - I heard tonight that Gaylord is suppose to get 4-6 inches!!! You'll have to tell me if that happens! :)

Cedar - that chick a chick phrase from your grandson is so cute! I'll have to remember that!

Tina - thank you! Sometimes they buzz in my face like little hummingbirds!

Nature Lovin - you had better scenery in yours! :)

Busy Bee - I will box one up and ship it to you immediately!

Becca - thank you!

Hi Ginger - I did take that photo! All photos on my sites have been taken by me (good and bad - lol!)

Michele - thank you! Been thinking about you and hope you had a great weekend!

heather - You are so observant! I noticed his little seed crumbs too!

New England - I think he was puffing his feathers up to show off! :)

Shannon - they are one of my faves!
