Continuing my walk on the Ausable...

Generally speaking, a howling wilderness does not howl: it is the imagination of the traveler that does the howling.

Nice shot of the river! Still a lot of snow there,.. but at least the water is open and the snow is dwindling,.. warm and foggy here this morning. Spring is definitely here.

Very pretty. I will be glad when the snow is completely gone though. ;)

Good luck with your search for pussywillows. I can tell by your photos your climate is a lot like ours here in Maine.

I really like the contrast between the sun and the shade. Looks like spring is in the air.

You have captured the beauty of Mother Nature. Wow it's incredible and as I have never been to your part of the country, I had no idea how incredibly peaceful and lovely it was. Thank you for allowing me so see it through your eyes. Today is my first day to travel via the blogs.

I really love the shots you've posted of the river. I grew up in Detroit, but never got "up north" very much. Now I know what I missed! I'm going to have to try to get up there sometime in the not-too-distant future. Keep up the good work.

Nice shot!
Makes you want to go around the bend of the river to also see what is there!

Stunningly beautiful! From the picture it looks like the position from where the picture was taken was a precarious perch!

Hi Shelley! A fine photo & looks to be a nice walk you've taken. I like the shadow cast at the bottom w/ sunshine at the top.

How is the weather in your area? Hope all is well & you're safe!

Oh my gosh, that is so true about a howling wilderness. Beautiful photo to accompany the quote, too.

I've often wondered about that. That's a new take on "the only thing to fear is fear itself" ... but in this case "the woods," or more correctly stated, our fear of the woods ...
