My favorite weather is bird-chirping weather. ~Loire Hartwould
*The Common Redpolls and the Pine Siskins still have not migrated onward which means Michigan has more snow in store for her. Though they are feeder hogs, I did enjoy their company this morning and was able to get a few of them to eat out of my hand. If you would like to see those photos, please click here.

You got some great pictures today. I have enjoyed the bird song each morning lately. I have cardinals building a nest near the bedroom window. They are fascinating to watch. I hope to get some photos to post - wish you were here to assist me!
Though they are very pretty, WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO LEAVE?? They'll be here longer than the robins!! LOL!!
Love the photo of the Redpoll. Beautiful little birds.
Hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful shot of the redpoll. I still have siskins here but didn't have a single redpoll and you are right, snow is on the way..
I just viewed your bird whisperer photos! Good thing you and the birds color coordinated your photo shoot!
They are pretty little birds, aren't they?
We have a glut of finches ( purple or house, not sure, but they are all bright red)pine siskins and chickadees. They are all squabbling over the feeders.....are the Redpolls like that?
That is an outstanding photo, Shelley!
Beautiful photo, man I wish your snow would leave!!
Shelley,
Such a wonderful clear picture of this bird...I would love to see just one..but not this yr, I guess! He looks sooo sweet and looked better in your hand! ;-)
Loved you quote!! my fav kind of weather, too!!
I love this little guy...so adorable. So cute that they like people too.
Love the little splotch of red on the birds head. Such a pretty picture.
I love the sounds of the sound of the birds in the spring! the three of us seen a robin the other day in our back yard. :) Hopefully the winter birds start migrating soon!
Loved the Enya song along with the bird's closeup.
They are eating us out of thistle!!!
I love how they wear their little berets at such a rakish angle!
Now that's a pretty bird! Good capture.
Mildred - thank you and how great that you'll have a cardinals nest. Their babies are usually pretty demanding - lol!
Cindy - I don't think they're leaving - LOL!!
Betsy - I'm so glad - they are sweet little things!
Rambling - I am overflowing w/ siskins. I am expecting an avalanche. :-)
Kathy - I think they did like my red fleece - ha,ha!
Cedar - I'm glad you think so!!
Darla - you and me both! I did have some crocuses pop up - I'm going to post them and dedicate them to you!
Tina - I thought that would be your favorite kinda weather too - lol! If you could see those redpolls just curiously looking at your face - you'd fall in love too!
Busy Bee - well I know they like plump girls that give them thistle! Ha,ha!
Ashley - thank you! This one was a female but I think as equally as beautiful as the male.
Nature Lovin - I swear when we are at our cabin and I am sleeping - I hear them singing "get up Shelley and feed us now!" ha,ha!
Retired One - this thistle is breaking my bank account! :)
Deborah - that is such a good description - now I will think of them w/ berets on their head. (Wait - that's a prince song - she wore a raspberry beret.....) :-)
Robert - thank you! I had a cooperative birdy!
Beautiful!!!
Awww... he's a cute little fella!
He looks so furry and friendly.
What a gorgeous photo. I've never seen a Redpoll.

Great picture it looks so cold on that tree but at the same time so cute :)
Fantastic photo! I need to put out a better bird-feeder in my back yard. I have one in my front yard, but I don't have a good spot to take photos of it.
awww, this is beautiful. Love the red crown on her head. I love birds, because they sing and are delicate.
