Look what I found!

I was so excited to have found my beloved Loon pair this morning, that I posted this photo on all 3 of my blogs! I kayaked all over Big Bradford lake to find these two - listening carefully for their haunting call across the water. And to make things even better, I heard a Loon on my own lake (Little Bradford Lake) this morning. So tomorrow I will load up the kayak and go looking for him. It goes without saying, the Common Loon is my favorite bird!

So you are a tried and true LOONEY! I am always impressed by people like you who go the extra mile for the love and joy of their passion, and you loony passion really does shine through!

Can you explain how and when you became enthralled with the loon? I really want to know!

Thank you everyone for stopping by!

Kathy - when I was a little girl and our family had rented a cabin on a lake, I heard my first loon - I was enthralled with it's call - it was so haunting and beautiful at the same time. My mom was a big birder and explained them to me. I've been hooked ever since!

I left a comment yesterday, and I guess it didn't take?
your shot of the birds is beautiful, and looks like its one bird with two heads :)
why I came to your blog is that I/we are looking for a house (remember I had commented a while ago on those cute small log cabins?) - but now we're downsizing from 1600 sq. feet to approx. 1100 sq.feet, and I'm squirming, and trying not to pull out my hair - one gets so used so much to a certain amount of space!!!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I found someone who's posted a photo of a Loon. I absolutely love love love Loons. They are said to migrate here to Florida but I have never seen one in person. Only photos of them. Wow! are you lucky. Thanks for sharing.
