Great quote! Does that photo show a little LESS snow? Will you get more before the season ends?

Like the quote: we're all in trouble when the river runs out, so why bother even crossing.

You were about 5 miles from me...I love that trail...did you make it into the ceder forest? there are a bunch of lil streams back there, and the trail is a 10 mile loop, and you end up at your car. My most favorite hike. Hope you had fun! by chance did you see the lil rapid/drop/falls when you where you there? So much fun on a canoe! Great picture, wonderful quote, and like tina-love the way rustic was used! Have a great weekend!:)

Pigeon River looks so peaceful, well at least for now. I can imagine it can be rough when the runoffs start up.
I wonder if it would be nice for fly fishing...

You can most definatly kayak it...it is easier to do in the early summer when the water levels are up. The river is windy, and there are some beaver damns on it...but if you are really intrested I could email you a map of the river with the best portage spots...I have friends that kayak it every year! just let me know! O an the elk have been hanging out deeper in the forest latly...You might see some on the green timbers trail. It is an easy hike in and goes to the "lower" cabin on the sturgoen river. That is where I have been seeing all the elk tracks. good luck on your elk adventures.
