Snowy Lake

The lake at our log cabin already has a thin layer of ice and is lightly dusted with snow. I am looking forward to seeing the wildlife that the white background and the bare trees will reveal. Last winter I saw a coyote walk across this lake in search of food. I am hoping he makes a return visit.

What a beautiful winter scene...no dirty snow..

Well looks like winter for sure. We should get up to 50 by noon. We are at 30 now. That s the way our winters are, not beautiful like yours.

That would make a neat postcard picture, or even a Christmas card. Is that your cabin in the background?

Beautiful.

Is that eagle eating a deer?

Just beautiful, I love these photos so much. I was wondering how close or far is your nearest neighbor? and then I think I see something on the left side of the photo, maybe that'a a neighbor?

You are right, so much more is revealed when the trees are bare. It's interesting to drive along the back roads and see old cellar holes, a little cemetery, and other things we don't notice when the trees are in full foliage!

This picture is so serene and makes me want to curl up in front of a fire with a blanket, cocoa and a good book.

RW - I like the pure snow too!

B&P - We will be in the 20's this week - brr!

Ginger - Great minds think alike! I did have xmas cards made of another photo of my cabin in the winter - I'll be posting it on my log cabin blog. :-)

Leedra - yes - there's a guy that collects road kill deer and puts it out for the eagles to feed on in the winter.

Darla - we have a neighbor 1 wooded lot away - so we have plenty of privacy - but someone is still close enough to visit. :-0

Cedar - I'm hoping I can spot those eagles and owls easier!

Mildred - thank you!

Ashley- that is one of my favorite things to do! :-)

Hi Denise - I was about 20-30 feet away - had to use the zoom lens.
