Privacy in Winter

loon golf club

"There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you ..... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself."

What an absolutely beautiful photo. I agree, Winter seems more private & quiet than any other time of the year. I wish you peace & joy this Christmas new friend.

Winter does other things too. I notice the birds are only collective when they come to feed and make no pretense about hiding. I think they all know there is hope in numbers. Winter is otherwise and here at other times, a great quiet.

Forgot to even mention that the photo is the best I have seen of a cold winter day. Just perfect.

I agree, absolutely a beautiful photograph. It is more private in winter, it's almost like we all hibernate like some of the animals. We all just want to snuggle in at home. May you and your family have a very blessed and Merry Christmas, my new friend.

That is particularly true here on Powell Lake, especially with the recent cold snap and snow. The loggers and power line workers are off work, so no work boats are passing our cabin. None of the other cabin owners have been around for weeks. That makes for lots of privacy, and we love it. -- Margy
