Taking a walk...

If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen.

~Henry David Thoreau

Interesting Thoreau quote, Shelley. I guess I am regarded as a Loafer--since I love walking in the woods. ha

I hate seeing all of the trees chopped down --in the name of progress...

Beautiful photo. How was your weekend???? Hope you had a wonderful trip.
Hugs,
Betsy

I'd rather be a loafer than a destroyer of nature.

Love the calming photo. Thanks for sharing!

I too find the quote interesting, and so true, which is too bad for us and for the wild life and wood lands. As usual, beautiful photography Shelley.

Wow..the ice is off that pond?
We are seeing our shore gradually melt, but still have ice on our lake.
Yesterday was a beautiful day, though..and today is also supposed to make it up in the 50's, so we should be seeing the ice break up soon!

We took a drive to a lake yesterday , it was just open after the big ice storm in Jan. Sad sad the trees are so damaged it will take years to be beautiful agin.

Beautiful photographs! I started photographing the birds at my bird feeder for the first time yesterday afternoon. It was really enjoyable. I'll have to get a book to identify each of them. I don't know much about birds.

Such beautiful blue water but it looks a little rough and cold.
