“It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on earth, and if we can teach our children to honour nature's gifts, the joys and beauties of the outdoors will be here forever.”

I have not seen cattails in years...so sweet!!!
Makes me want to meow. ;0
I love them at every stage. Nice photo of a fuzzy one you captured!
So pretty, Shelly. Did your loons make it back yet? It has really warmed up the past couple of days here, just a beautiful day today.
Pam
Great photo of the cattail. I've always been fascinated by them. I'd love to photograph them, but I never take the time to seek them out. Maybe I'll find the time this weekend.
I don't see these often either. Very pretty and I like the quote from Pres. Carter.
My dear friend Kathy's childhood nickname within her family was and still is, Kat-tail. She loves cattails. They are common here. Threatening them is Purple Loostrife which is an invasive plant and it will choke out cattails if not pulled before it goes to seed.
Isn't it cool they way they just bust at the seams! I love them too. I remember being a kid thinking it was so exciting to pull one apart. Now I enjoy watching them come undone on their own.
That Jimmy Carter, he's a smart cookie!
I like cattails, that one looks lonely
Patsy.
I love seeing those, makes me know warmer temps are here.
there is a spot on the corner of whitmarh and nowak that is filled with cattails. I can't wait until they come up! Hope you are enjoying yourself up north! o' and great quote, could not have been better put!
What a wonderful thought...keep our fingers crossed that someday it will come true!!
Interesting pictures! :)

Pam - the loons did make it back! I was so excited! And what a great week it was up there - sunny and in the 60's. I bet you enjoyed your week too! :-)

Cedar - I love your friend's nickname!
New England - me too!
Benny & Patsy - I thought the same thing - where was the rest of the cattails friends? :-)
Dawnie - it was wonderful to go outside without a jacket! :)
Nature Lovin - I did not want to leave the cabin today - it was a glorious sun filled week!
Tina - I hope it comes true too! I'll try to do my part.

I loved the close up of the cat tail..we forget to examine ordinary things up close to really examine their beauty!
