Ice Break Up

“Friendship that flows from the heart cannot be frozen by adversity, as the water that flows from the spring cannot congeal in winter.”

Little Bradford Lake - the ice is finally starting to break up. My kayaking days can't be far behind now...

my best buddy and I were just talking today about kayaks. i don't think I will get one ($$$) but then who knows! If you show us some shots of you out enjoying a kayak I'll bet it will be harder for me to resist that next sale at Dick's or Gander Mt!

Shelley,
I can see why you yearn for those frozen waters to thaw..this has been a long and windy winter..and the idea of kayaking sounds inviting even to me..

Lovely pic and quote..

keep looking right around that bend..

I don't think I could live much further north than I do now (Maryland) because it's April. And the ice should be gone (in my mind).
Here's to kayaking days ahead for you!

Mildred - I am so ready to see a blue lake!

B & P - hope so!

Nature Lovin- One day I may not drive back downstate and decide to stay at the cabin forever - LOL!!!

Cedar - they're really not that expensive - wait for a sale at Dicks! (I had gotten mine 50% off there.) Kayaking is great!

Busy Bee - We'll go kayaking on my lake! Bring your camera!

Pam - you will have to let me know if you two come fishing on Bradford Lake this summer! Stop by my cabin! P.S. Will you be at that Gaylord Arts & Craft Bazar downtown (they're having one in June, July, Aug, & Sept.) I signed up for June & July.

Judy - I've been on pins & needles waiting! LOL!

Betsy - I'm w/ you. I think this was the longest winter on record! LOL!

Kathy - I agree!

Spooky - for some reason - I feel like I have to work harder at canoeing! LOL! But I love both!

Monica - thank you!

Tina - I am so ready for some early morning kayaking in search of my loons!

Darla - yes! I wish the man upstairs was listening a little closer......ha!

Country Girl - as much as I love Michigan, this winter drove me to thinking about living in N. Carolina - ha,ha!

Robert - Prudent advice! I had to rescue a neighbors dog that fell thru last week!

Deborah - I think I've resigned myself to the fact it's at least 2 weeks away. Sigh!

I love it when the lakes start to melt, it means that fly fishing season is right around the corner! I have some of the more shallow lakes thawed but some of my favorites are still quite frozen.

It is a beautiful shot.

For some reason I picture you pulling out that kayak, standing by the water's edge, waiting with smile on your face.
