Bright and Glory Lake is located on the edge of Hartwick Pines State Park in Grayling. There's a quarter mile trail you walk down and when you reach the fork in the road, you can either head to Bright or Glory. If you like to fish, there is a nice size wooden dock from where you can try to reel in trout, bass and pan fish. They are both catch and release lakes. Last year we witnessed Loon parents swimming with their 2 babies. It's scenic, quiet and peaceful. Bring a chair, fishing pole, binoculars, camera and bug spray. A great way to spend the early morning!

When we visited Hartwick Pines in Feb. I saw the signs for Bright and Glory Lake. I don't think it was possible to drive back there in the winter. If we get up there sometime this summer I'm going to put them on my list of sites to visit.
Jess,
You would love it. I hear the Loons come back every year!
Shell
Shellmo - Wow - what a beautiful photo. It does make me want to pack up my lawn chair and camera and a book. Maybe when it's 105 here in August, I'll pack up!
What a nice blog. I never knew so much about "up north" Michigan. I especially did not know about the wineries. I never would have thought that Michigan would have the climate for growing grapes.
Diana - thanks for coming by - it's a wonderful little place to visit!
Violetlady - thanks for making your way over here. There are some great wineries - one just won a national cheese competition - I'll be posting on that in the future when I visit.
This is a great photo and I will visit the website for possible visit this summer. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Great reflection, it does look very peaceful. Thanks for stopping by.
The reflections in this picture are beautiful. Michigan looks like a great place. I have friends who live there... maybe I should visit them!
Sandpiper - I highly recommend a visit to Michigan! I hope to post more great things soon. Thanks for coming by
