The Road Less Traveled

ROAD LESS TRAVELED

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Then took the other as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet, knowing how way leads onto way
I doubted if I should ever come back

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence
Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference

Robert Frost

SPECIAL NOTE - I will be out of town the rest of this week and will catch up with all of you on Monday. Thank you for stopping by!

Robert Frost wrote some great things. Not far from here across the border into VT is the Robert Frost Roadside Park. I believe he might have been from VT originally.

Beautiful Poem.

There use to be so many roads like that around here that looked so peaceful and serene. The trouble is that now that is where everyone wants to live and they are getting fewer.

HI Shelley, I love Robert Frost's poem. I always relate that to our lives. We take so many roads --and make so many choices. It's interesting to think about what would have happened if we had have made OTHER choices.

Have a safe trip--and be careful out there on the road!
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful photo! It makes me long for the country.

That poem brings back memories! I had to memorize it in junior high. Of course, I only remembered the last line about taking the road less traveled. lol
