This is quite a well known river downstate, I have seen it too.
We used to live in Paris, Michigan on the Manistee River (I think that was its name) and it was a lot of fun living right on the river. Our Irish Setter would go for daily swims and there were tons of canoe-ers that traveled down past our house too.

Oh the nostalgia! Many times I canoed the Au Sable, watched fishermen entice a trout to the lure, prepared a simple breakfast near its banks. It has been my standard for canoe rivers for years, with few others coming close. Favorite is the south branch.

Nothing is better than a nice flowing river. Hope you have been able to enjoy your summer and your cabin so far.

P.S. Nalley's brother is in Traverse City. If you're ever in the Atlanta area, come by and see us too!

Sure looks different in the spring time compared to all those pretty frozen scenes we kind of don't want to remember from winter!! :)

Very beautiful. I just love photographing water. My husband and I got to Arizona every year to visit his family. Last year we took a drive through the mountains and we came across the Salt River in the Salt River Canyon. I could have stood there for hours just listening to the water rush over the rocks. Of course I also took lots of photos.
