What a thrill to see this bird. I get to see then only in the spring when they come by on there way up north. I get to post about a beautiful bird in color that came to our feeder today.

Hi Shell-----I'm so glad the Grosbeek visited us during migration. I had never seen one before---and was just SO excited.

Great picture of him...
Love you,
Betsy

What a stunning photo, the red on the breast seems to be bleeding downward, and the blur of wings just makes the photo better.

I like the quote too, and how very true!

I love, love, love them. They are one of my favorite birds.
That was a fantastic shot of the blurred wings..I never realized they had so much armpit red....
And look at its little face.
Wonderful captured shot!
I bow in honor!

Wow - the red under the wings is great - usually we just see flashes as it is flying. Very nice

Shelly, how light and artfully marked this bird is...! Beautiful capture of a free bird! I love it "up north" and spend many summers there as a child where my grandfather, Al, spent his retirement. Thanks for sharing your Grosbeak Glory and passion for nature. <3

Great photo!

I saw one of these on my feeder for the first time a few weeks ago. I had never seen one before. I had to look it up on the internet to see what it was.
