We took an excursion to Traverse City yesterday for some shopping and eating. After we parked our car, I shot this photo of the Boardman River. This river snakes through downtown Traverse City and flows into the Grand Traverse Bay. It seems to move pretty fast - and it was fun to watch the mallard ducks swept along so easily. I don't think they had to put much effort into paddling. The Boardman River is considered one of the top ten trout streams in Michigan. My hubby was sad he hadn't thought to bring along his fly rod - maybe next time.

Great shot. Love the fall colors too. I can imagine standing there for a good little while with a smile on my face. :-)
This is the type of photo that one has to take some time to peruse! It has so much going on subject-wise and the colors reflecting in the water just add a great touch! Nice Post...+ the music adds to it!
So beautiful. Great photo.
A fellow colleague of mine hails from Benzie County, not too far from Traverse City. Sounds like good country.
I love that view of the Boardman, and your photo is lovely. We used to have a cottage near Kalkaska, so I've been there many times. The TC waterfront is just great. They were so wise to use it as a focal point instead of hiding it with buildings.
Years ago, we went there to see the Tall Ships. That was great! But I can't believe I don't have a single picture of it! That wouldn't happen today.
This place is beautiful. I have only been to Traverse City once and I only drove through it at night on the way home from Sleeping Bear Dunes on a photography excursion. Another reminder to me letting me know I need to let my boys experience as much of the beauty of this state we live in.
I love all of the fall colors too.
2sweet - thank you - still a little fall color left! :-)
Tina - thank you! glad my music isn't annoying you! ha,ha!
Darla - thanks!
Robert - a lot to do in the Traverse Area if you're a nature, wine, art or foodie lover! Or all of the above!
Mona - you just brought back memories of the Tall Ships.... big smile!
Christy - so much to do there - your kids would love it!
Charli - thank you too!!
Perhaps natureboy and I should take a trip to Traverse City next summer as he LOVES fishing!!
