I went out early in the morning on the kayak in search of the loons and was just enthralled by the mist on the lake. Something so peaceful and beautiful at the same time.

Hey, you're a kayaker! :) And it looks like you even have an orange kayak like mine. The year before last, we rented a cottage on a lake in Quebec for a year, while looking for a farm to buy. I kayaked as much as I could, and we had loons on our lake too. (Your loon photos are amazing, btw.) This photo brought back happy memories of that time -- gorgeous! And what a great way to start your day.

Shellmo, my husband and I both chose orange kayaks for visibility! :) GOod colour.
We used to rent sea kayaks when we lived in Nova Scotia, but we have 12-ft kayaks now that I find are just perfect for around here. We live near the St. Lawrence River and are planning to kayak down there this weekend.
I also find they are great to photograph birds from. :)
Knatolee - you are right about them being perfect to photograph from - I've gotten my best loon photos from them!
Well dadgumit Shellmo, you tell me you can identify my rose and then you don't.....torture!!LOL
