Hi Shel, WOW--they are gorgeous. I'll bet you were thrilled to get up to the cabin---and see the beauty up there. Are the colors prettier up there than in Southern Michigan???

We have some pretty colors now also. It should be gorgeous in Maggie Valley.
Hugs,
Betsy

Although I will still be posting some of our color on future blog posts soon, our color here is nearly GONE and the trees are now bare. We got some really hard frosts and a couple of snow days and it killed the color process and dried them all up. They were literally falling like rice krispies off the tree like rain the other day..you could hear them falling.

Simply gorgeous, on the opposite shore and the gathering of leaves at your feet!

Not only do you post spectacular photographs, your quotes are always ones I wish I had found to quote....Thomas Paine is a man who's writings are well worth reading and quoting.Very true!( his words)

I'm torn between loyalty for my growing up state (MI), and loyalty for my retiring state (VT), but I must admit, autumn in MI always has, and always will, rock. Something happened in NE and leaves just got blown off - glad to see the world is right somewhere.

That's some nice-looking color up there, Shelley! We've got really good color going on down here in southeast Ohio right now, too. Too bad the rain and wind has to strip all the prettiness away!

Lovely colors! I wish we got such vibrant colors here. It's so drab. You take some great photos.

I love the reflections of Autumn's colors in lakes and streams.
It is a beautiful time of year and your photographs capture the essence of the season.
Thank you.
I have enjoyed catching up with your journal today.
