Thousands of logs were skidded to rivers and then the current of the river transported them downstream to the mills. Many a logger lost his life walking the logs to break up a "jam"... They wore special gum-soled boots to keep them from slipping on the wet logs. They don't float much though due to all of the rocks. <BR/><BR/>The worst thing for me was seeing so many trees down and gone --due to the Ice Storms on Mt. Nebo.
